What is Vacation Bible School?
Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a program that teaches kids basic Bible truths about God’s love, His Word (the Bible), and salvation, in fun and interactive ways.
What will my child do at VBS?
In addition to hearing an exciting Bible story each day, kids will enjoy lively games, incredible crafts, memorable songs, entertaining cartoons, and delicious snacks. In each activity, the general theme or day’s lesson will be reinforced. Plus, they’ll have the opportunity to share God’s love with other kids around the world in our mission project.
When is VBS?
VBS is June 24th – 28th from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.On Sunday, June 30th, families are invited to join us for service at 10:45am to see a recap of the week and watch the kids perform their songs. After church a free hot dog lunch will be provided. Families can enjoy some food and then spend time going head-to-head in a few of our fun VBS games.
Who can attend VBS?
VBS is open to children who are (potty-trained) 3 years old, through children who have completed 5th grade.
What is this year’s theme?
This year our VBS is called “Tank Tales.” Each day a cartoon will introduce kids to the fish in the tank. Through these stories they’ll learn about the love of Jesus and what that love means for their everyday lives.
If I drop my child off who will they be with?
Children are placed into classes based on age/grade level. Each classroom as well as each activity center is equipped with a number of adults who have been thoroughly screened and background checked.
What if my child has special needs or allergies?
Before the start of VBS parents are asked to fill out a registration form. Part of this form covers any special needs your child might have. After the form is filled out, the appropriate adult parties are informed of your child’s need and the best way to address it.
Why should I bring my child to VBS at Mentor Baptist?
While a lot of churches offer VBS programs, you’ll only find Tank Tales here. Each year we strive to offer an original program that we think kids will love and that will help them grow spiritually.
How can I sign up?
Come back on May 1st to register or text VBS2024 to 440-296-5520 and we’ll send you the registration form on 5/1.

(Tank Tales T-Shirts are available for purchase (first come first serve) during VBS week.)Lastly, while nothing is required to bring to VBS, your child is always welcome to bring his or her own Bible to follow along during the classroom time.
